Shelf Life: My Rugged 211 x Minoru Onozato.

Free & Easy Editor Minoru Onozato has, for over 40 years, searched for, found and collected what has amounted to a vast collection of what he calls rugged style. If you’re at all familiar with Free & Easy, the word rugged recurs quite frequently. Hell, there’s a “museum” in it’s honor. Sparked by a youth spent playing Rugby, Onozato was set on a path, a lifelong pursuit of “unfashionable fashion” and “My Rugged 211”, as he states in the forward, “is a record of this quest”. Here’s an extremely abbreviated look inside. Available at J.Crew.

Sanforized…love your site. Really great stuff.

  3. Great book, added to the collection the second I could get a copy.

  4. Nathaniel says:

RRL produced a jacket very similar to the current Nigel Cabourn Camerman piece?

  5. Tim says:

come on. 90 dollars. really? I'd love to see the percentage of profit. All in all its a gorgeous book – The translation is nice though

  6. Griff says:

The book actually retails in Japan for ï¿¥ 3,990, which works out to be about $48.50. It is a nice book, but if you know someone in Japan that can buy and send it to you I would rather that than give J.Crew the mark up.Still nice book. Free and Easy is a bad ass magazine.

  7. John says:

Awesome. I'm sure it's at Kinokuniya Booktore for $48.50- if J. Crew hasn't bought them all…

  8. Søren says:

Doesn't this become–at the point of $90 coffee table book (and a poor one at that)–inauthentic fashion?
